Big Clumsy Cat (Emma's human servant): Emma was diagnosed with feline chronic kidney disease, stage 4!

The blank space above is like the scene in my brain when I heard the doctor’s diagnosis report in the hospital. I really didn't expect that Emma would have this result! I originally thought it was a tooth problem, and the worst case scenario would be tooth extraction!

The doctor said that Emma was very weak now and had low body temperature. She would probably not wake up from anesthesia, so intubation feeding was not possible. The only way was to get an intravenous injection, and stay in the hospital for a day. The injection lasted for more than 10 hours, and I needed to be taken home at night because there was no one in the hospital at night. If your physical strength can recover within 3 days, you can be anesthetized and intubated for feeding, but this is uncertain. In addition, even if she can recover this time, it will only be to extend her life, because this symptom is irreversible. As time goes by, the symptoms will get worse! At the same time, other symptoms may occur. Without treatment, she could die within days.

I asked the doctor to leave for now while I needed to think. In fact, I had already made the decision a few years ago, but when it came to the decision, it was so hard to accept.

Emma is an indoor cat and she is afraid of the outdoors. I think she is not willing to stay in a strange place at the end of her life. Also, every time she goes out, she expends a lot of energy, putting her into stress mode, and she is now very weak. Just like the blood test just now, it tortured her a lot.

Finally, I took Emma home. If this was her last life, I wanted her to spend it at home.

Because of kidney failure, goat milk cannot be fed, as this will only increase the burden on the body. See, I was trying to do her good, but I was doing her harm. The previous ignorance is irreversible, so I break the solid food into smaller pieces, just like drinking water, and Emma also needs to add a lot of water. Unfortunately, kidney failure caused problems in her mouth, which caused pain every time she ate or drank. Moreover, laboratory indicators show that Emma will also be very nauseous and may vomit out the food she is fed. She will spit out more water than she drank in, causing her body to lose more water. But you can’t go without eating or drinking. After I got home, I fed her twice, each time taking a lot of time, but luckily, she didn't throw up.

Emma no longer goes to my bedroom, where she used to sleep. I took her first cat bed out and she is now so skinny that the kitten bed is just right for her. She lay on it, hoping it would make her feel safe as a child.

Hope she makes it through the night!
